Unique Patchwork Infinity Scarf
By doing the scarf, the technique that I used most was to work with the sewing machine, throughout the process I also made by hand some points to ensure that the scarf can not have a chance to open holes. I am still waiting a part of the necessary material to finish my project but i know that i will finish it using again the sewing machine and just details by hand-stitched.
My infinity scarf design has as main significant the fact that chose all the collors and fabrics thinking about my own taste. Describing my project in a cultural way I can say I chose the style is very related to the indigenous culture of my country, Brazil, where the clothes and acessories have a lot of line draws in different positions together.
I decided to use striped fabrics creating a pattern with horizontal and vertical lines together because I like the way it flows and as I said before reminds the style of my country. My scarf has different types of textures, including a triadic color scheme using 3 different colors together. I also used raw collors, such as black, grey and beige because are the shades that I like to use in clothes, I don’t like chamative collors such as pink, yellow or green.
I really like the fact that we as students were totally free to imagine and create our own design the way we wanted without restrictions. The aspect that I didn’t like in my project process is that I had more time to do it would be even better the results than it is, I would concentrate more in the details. At least I just struggle a little bit in the part of the process in which I have to cut the fabrics in the same size to put together, for me this moment was very complicated.
